Suzanne Pleshette

SuzanneSuzanne Pleshette (January 31, 1937 from 1937 to January 19th, 2008) was an American theatre, film television, voice actress. Pleshette began her career in theatre and was in films by the late 1950s. In later years, she was a prominent actor in movies like Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (633) and Spirited Away (11). Later, she was in numerous television shows and was frequently an actor in guest roles. She was Emily Hartley in The Bob Newhart Show from 1972 through 1978, where she received several Emmy Award nominations. Pleshette was the daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan), and Eugene Pleshette. She was born in Brooklyn Heights, New York City, on January 31 of 1937. The parents of her were Jewish and were the descendants of immigrants from Russia and Austria-Hungary.Her mother was a dancer and artist who performed under the stage name Geraldine Rivers. Her father was the stage manager in both the Paramount Theater as well as the Paramount Theater in Manhattan.
